Patriot Guard Riders ........

http://www.patriotguard.org

This is an organization I had heard about last month and for some reason just hadn't gotten around to joining. I fixed that problem today and have got their link up on the sidebar now.
Here's their mission statement:

Patriot Guard Riders Mission Statement

The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles.
We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America's freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.

We don't care what you ride, what your political views are, or whether you're a "hawk" or a "dove". It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you're from or what your income is.
You don't even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.
Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family.

Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives.
1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.
2. Shield the mourning family and friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.
We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.

This is a group I feel privileged to be a part of. God bless 'em.

CNN had a recent report on the Patriot Gaurd Riders here:

You are probably aware of who the protestors are at Military Funerals. You may know them as the Westboro Baptist Church, founded by Fred Phelps. I'll let you read what the Anti-Defamation League has to say about them. Keep in mind, this was written BEFORE the war in Iraq began.

I've had the honor of seeing the Phelps Family Douchebags in action both conversing and corresponding with a couple of these fucking lunatic cult freaks.
FYI-
They are not: Baptists.
They are not: Christians.
They are not: affilliated in any way with any Baptist organizationation.
If you understand that right up front, it makes everything else easier to understand. These folks actually protested at Mr. Rogers funeral.

If you wish to know just who they are and what they stand for, you can go to their website here:

I won't give the Sonsabitches a link, you'll have to make that work on your own.

Needless to say, The Patriot Gaurd Riders are meeting a need and I'm happy to be able to be a part. Think about it yourself.
