Fishy? Ya Think????
You Gotta wonder just what they plan on doing with the "Snitch Data" acquired by this.
Enemies List, anyone?
From the official Whitehouse Website-via Redstate:
"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."
I find it Fishy that the Whitehouse feels it's ok for them to ask us to snitch on our fellow citizens.
They should have just wrote this-
"Please help us create a database of dissident malcontents so we can deal effectively with them as needed in the future."
You know they are "Making a list and checking it twice." Right?
Byron York talks about this today. He includes some of a letter sent by, Senator John Cornyn of Texas that addresses my concerns about the use of the data collected in this fishing expedition -
In a letter to Obama Tuesday, Republican Sen. John Cornyn wrote that, given Phillips' request, "it is inevitable that the names, email address, IP addresses, and private speech of U.S. citizens will be reported to the White House." Cornyn warned the president that "these actions taken by your White House staff raise the specter of a data collection program."
"I can only imagine the level of justifiable outrage had your predecessor asked Americans to forward emails critical of his policies to the White House," Cornyn continued. "I urge you to cease this program immediately."
The Morons at Ace of Spades are all over this with some posters to help guide the citizens in this Whitehouse database collection.
There's more. Check 'em out.
Pretty funny stuff.
Speaking of Funny Posters. Howzabout the new 2009 Conference Poster from NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) -
