Quote For Today............
"It is important to remember that government interference always means either violent action or the threat of such action. Government is in the last resort the employment of armed men, of policemen, gendarmes, soldiers, prison guards, and hangmen. The essential feature of government is the enforcement of its decrees by beating, killing, and imprisoning. Those who are asking for more government interference are asking ultimately for more compulsion and less freedom."
Ludwig von Mises
I stole this quote from this excellent, American Thinker article by Monty Pelerin - Government of The Elites, By The Elites and For The Elites
Pelerin concludes that-
"There is no viable political solution. Choosing between Corruption Faster (Democrats) and Corruption Slower (Republicans) does not change the destination, merely the rate at which the public is plundered. Government is too large and too powerful to allow itself to be dismantled via the ballot box. Yet it is also too large, too inefficient and too insolvent to survive."
You gonna argue with that? I can't.
Alan Caruba at his Blog, Warning Signs posted a good article Saturday that ties in with the above article nicely-
America's Communist President
He concludes -
"In 2010 Americans returned power in the House of Representatives to the Republican Party. We must finish the job in the Senate and in the White House in 2012. If we do not, the America we love will perish."
I personally think it's already to late for the ballot box to change much.
Read the Pelerin article above and think about it.
We are a Nation of two totally separate cultures that share only a common language and common borders.
One group wants to control everything you do via government.
The other just wants to be left the hell alone.
Nope. Don't see this working out to well.
Gratuitous Picture for a Tuesday Morning-
