He Really Does Hate Us...................

Yesterday I saw that gas prices were between $3.99 and $4.15 per gallon for plain unleaded. No way that can cause cause any problems for folks budgets, eh?

Now our Commie in Chief has done it again - Obama Kills Atlantic Offshore Drilling For Five Years.

Don't tell me this isn't intentional.

Good Read For a Saturday Afternoon.............

Everyone has known for years what a good writer Iowahawk is. He has really outdone himself on this one though.

Bringing back memories of my youth of Big Daddy Roth and Drunken Mystery and making it all work was a genuine pleasure to read.

Check it out. You'll really be glad you did - Orbitron Apocalypto

Eddie the Hyper-vigilant Watchdog................
Started barking about something at 0410 this morning. Now he'll bark at damn near anything during the daytime and I don't think much about it, but he seldom barks at night unless there's something worthwhile to be checking out.

So I'm out of bed checking out the "GrumpyUnk Command and Control Bunker", peaking out the windows, etc and of course finding nothing.
Maybe it was a deer or 2 or some coyotes looking for chickens that no longer live here.
Who Knows?

But I am wide awake and unable to go back to sleep.

It's over a week that I've really sat my ass in front of the computer and seen what's going on out there in the world.
Guess what?
Same old shit and I just don't seem to be able to muster up any enthusiasm about it either.

The Supreme Court is hearing arguments about ObamaCare. This is good. That's a terrible law and another step toward the Commie end game the Left is seeking. I doubt that there will be enough Justices who remember the Constitution to make a difference though.

And WTF is this whole Trayvon Martin thing about?
I seem to have missed the whole deal there.

Oh, and WTF is a "White Hispanic neighborhood watch captain?" White Hispanic. That's a new one on me.

One thing I did see this morning at Green Mountains Homesteading That got me a bit charged was this excellent Bill Whittle Video-

He doesn't pull any punches on this at all. You should watch it. He's always good, this is special.

OK. I'm done for now. That's about all it takes to wear my sorry self out anymore.
Enjoy your day, Kids!

I Gotta What???????????????

Temperature of 103.4 this morning. About the same as last night.
I haven't even STARTED Chemo yet!

Judging by the volume of sweat, Tylenol seems to be working at knocking it down. Will call the Doc ASAP as soon as the Sun comes up and see what he wants me to do.

I have a fairly good idea of what that will be.
I'll Keep ya posted.

For the Win!!!!!!!!!!

For the first time since I had surgery I slept in a bed last night!!

Doesn't sound like much but believe me, it's a big deal. Slept well too.

Baby Steps. Today is gonna be a good day.

Wednesday Afternoon and all is Well...........

Yesterday was a very good day and today has been good.

There's actually a lot of cool things to tell ya about, except the new meds they started me on yesterday morning seem to be a bit to strong.

In other words, my brain is functioning about like a Cabbage. I see the Doc again tomorrow and hopefully He'll be able to cut back the dosage some.
As it is now, I just can't focus or keep me train of thought on the tracks!

Like I said, had some pretty cool things going on here in the last 24 hours or so that I wish I could share with Ya.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Whoa!! What the Heck Just Happened Here???????
With the warm weather and Sunshine, I been spending most of the day hanging out in the garage. Not really doing much, just hanging out and enjoying the day.

I'm pretty limited on what I can do yet so no big projects going on. Hell, I don't feel well enough to do to much yet.

All of a sudden, "TheBigBluePlasticMotorcycle" just - Fell Over!!
Nothing or nobody near it or anything.
It's been parked there in that same spot for a couple of months.

Weird. Now, it was on the sidestand and
the transmission was in Neutral. I try to not leave it in neutral just because of crap like this and I like to have it up on the Centerstand.

I can't always get that big beast up on the centerstand by myself, so it doesn't get there sometimes.
Don't know if it had been jostled and had the handlebars turned a few times to make it unstable or what.

But it was a heck of a shock!
Fortunately, TherapyBoy was here to wrestle it up off the floor for me or it would still be there. Darn nice to have a Big Strong Kid around for times like this!
We got it up on the centerstand and a cursory inspection doesn't show any big damage anywhere. I'll give it a thorough look see when I'm feeling better and not on drugs.

Mood for Monday............

This pretty well sums it up-

Now what is funny is while I'm looking for an appropriate picture, the search engine returns THIS.

I had no idea.
I am so out of it when it comes to hip culture stuff anymore.

Probably just as well.

Miscellaneous Saturday News...............
Up early here this morning and just hanging out with these irritating Shingles on my belly.

Here's a nice story to start your morning with-
The Hero and the Fluke
I missed the initial flap about Sandra Fluke, Rush and all the Fallout/Bullshit while in the hospital.
I had never even heard of Melissa Campbell and her involvement in the Stolen Valor case. Read the link provided for back story.
This is a nice comparison/contrast and a dandy way to start the day.

No warm and fuzzy here as Bloodsucker Eric Holder describes-
Obama's Kill Doctrine

"On Monday, March 5, Northwestern University School of Law was the location of an extraordinary scene for a free nation. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder presented President Barack Obama's claim that he has the authority to kill any U.S. citizen he considers a threat."

I'd like a little more of following Constitutional guidelines and a lot less of this, "Hey, it's ok. Trust Me" Bullshit here. There's not a single person in this, or any other administration I trust. We all know they will be using this same reasoning and rationale to explain when some Schmuck in Idaho gets whacked by a Predator Drone in the future.

As the Election Cycle heats up, Doug Ross notes a key endorsement for President Jug Ears-
Obama Picks up Key Endorsement

You'll just have to go check it out as I don't want to spoil it. The photo alone is worth your time.

My Cousin, TVI sent me a link to this video the other day and I just finished watching it.

Incredible experience for this fella and something he'll never forget.

Friday Morning around the Compound...............
Since I don't have a work schedule anymore I've been getting up pretty early and just kicking around the "GrumpyUnk Command and Control Center" in the mornings.
I still don't seem to be able to get much done yet. Not so much because of the weight limitations on lifting, but more a response to taking the pain meds.

Yep, they work well and and I'm not laying around crying in pain. The problem is just about the time you quit hurting and decide to something, The Brain goes on hold and any enthusiasm you had says, "Hey. I'm going out for smokes. I'll be back in about 4-5 hours.

Damn things make you lazy and stupid.

The good news is that I'm healing up real well and shouldn't need them much longer. Yay Me!

Here's a couple of Items found on the web this morning for ya to check out.

Apparently, everything in the USA is just fine & dandy and we have nothing that needs fixing here so we have time to worry about-
The Obama Administration's Bold but Risky Plan to Make Africa Gay-Friendly

Am I missing something here, but aren't there a bunch of wars, poor people and starving kids in Africa that might deserve a bit more attention than Gay Rights? Who the hell comes up with the priority list at the State Dept?

I've mentioned this problem before. Looks like it's not gonna be getting better anytime soon-
CDC: 'Superbug' transmitted outside hospitals

"Many patients infected by the deadly superbug Clostridium difficile, long thought to be contracted mainly during hospital stays, are already exposed when they are admitted to the hospital, U.S. infectious disease experts said on Tuesday.

Rates of C. difficile, the most common hospital-based infection in the United States, continue to climb. The infection can cause severe diarrhea, inflammation and bleeding in the colon, and death."

C Diff is one Nasty Ass Infection and is just one of several that could use our attention more than worrying about a Gay-Friendly Africa.

Mark Potok, of the Southern Poverty Law Center is sounding the alarm about the "Explosive Growth" of Militias in the USA.

If all the Militias formed and grew at the rate he's been claiming for so many years now everyone would be wearing Cammo and carrying Evil Black Rifles everywhere.

Apparently he got some help writing this-
Potok Claims ‘Explosive Growth’ Of Militias

"As is noted at the bottom of this post at MSNBC: "The Murrow News Service is [sic] provides local, regional and statewide stories reported and written by journalism students at the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University."

In other words, MSNBC is now resorting to "journalism students" to re-write Mark Potok’s press releases from his one man band, the Southern Poverty Law Center."

Ya wouldn't think he'd need any help on writing this stuff, since it's basically the ONLY thing he's written about for the last 15 years.
The real shame is that the FBI, DHS, TSA, ATF and a bunch of other Federal agencies have a very close relationship with the SPLC and apparently believe his Bullshit.

Yesterday, Obama and the Senate Democrats once again show their dedication to screwing the rest of us and killing jobs-

Senate rejects Keystone in 56-42 vote

"The Senate has rejected a GOP plan to approve construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline after President Obama made personal calls to Democrats urging them to oppose it."

One can argue about the motivation and reasons why these people continue to use every tool at their disposal to weaken the nation energy wise, but it certainly can't be argued that it's not deliberate anymore.

Thursday Morning Science News.............

Couple of interesting but odd things to ponder over.
This first topic has been in the news intermittently, usually associated with "The End of the World" type scenarios.
With our increasing dependence on computers and their offspring, I can actually see the chances for this option growing as the maintenance, upkeep and updating of the supporting infrastructure drops.
Not that I'm I'm worried about it much. I have much more pressing things personally.

Solar blast could have earthly impact
"The sun unleashed one of the biggest flares ever seen during its current activity cycle late Tuesday — an X5.4-class outburst strong enough to trigger a radio blackout. The resulting geomagnetic storm could affect electrical grids, communication links, satellite navigation systems and airline schedules over the next couple of days."

This one doesn't sound like to big of a deal. But given the right conditions, a big enough CME would fry the electrical grid 6 ways from Sunday.
Again, I'm not losing any sleep over it. But I did want to get out and and see if the Northern Lights were out there, but damn if the clouds hadn't moved in already.
So I was more upset about that than any potential catastrophe.

Yeah, I know. I'm a selfish old fart. But it's all about me, right?

And from the "Why Does This Not Surprise Me at All?" Files comes this-

How to get ANYTHING through TSA nude body scanners: Blogger exposes loophole in $1billion fleet

"Controversial nude body scanners used at U.S. airports have come under fire again - after a blogger claimed he could easily smuggle explosives through them onto a plane.

Engineer Jonathan Corbett has published a video where he shows how he took a small metal case through two of the TSA's $1billion fleet in a special side pocket stitched into his shirt."

We all know that the big security song and dance to get through an airport is a waste and just for show anyway.
And that this young kid figured out a cheap and easy way to bypass that system makes me laugh.
The "Large and in Charge" types in Washington are gonna have a Case of the Vapors over all this and I expect them to do the right and reasonable thing here.
They'll probably send a SWAT Team to his place, drag his ass off to jail and bring him up on a list of charges including "Domestic Terrorism" as an example for the rest of us.

Who knows, maybe he'll get to be the first one they use the NDAA powers against. Someones gotta be first and there really is no greater offense to those in power than pointing this sort of thing out and then taunting them with a video as proof.

Good luck, Kid.
You're gonna need it.

Evil? Oh yeah, It's Out There.............

I saw this last night at Free North Carolina and have a 20$ bill I'll put up to anyone who wants to take this bet.

Here's the deal. I got 20 bucks that there will be absolutely no condemnation by the leftist Establishment or an apology forthcoming from Mike Malloy for mocking the victims of last weeks tornadoes on his show yesterday.

That is one cold SOB there. He uses the word sad, but not to describe the the situation, loss of life or devastation suffered by his fellow countrymen. No, he uses it to mock their belief in God. The fact that whole families perished and many folks have lost everything they had doesn't seem to bother him at all. It's just a vehicle for him to use.

Don't tell me there's no evil in this world. And I don't want want to even hear a word about how damn caring the Progressive Left is for people from all walks of life.

Medical Ethicists. Really????????
So I guess the question of whether abortion is ethical has been settled already and we're moving on to big and better targets.

Killing babies no different from abortion, experts say

"Parents should be allowed to have their newborn babies killed because they are “morally irrelevant” and ending their lives is no different to abortion, a group of medical ethicists linked to Oxford University has argued.................."

“We take ‘person’ to mean an individual who is capable of attributing to her own existence some (at least) basic value such that being deprived of this existence represents a loss to her.”

As such they argued it was “not possible to damage a newborn by preventing her from developing the potentiality to become a person in the morally relevant sense”.

The authors therefore concluded that “what we call ‘after-birth abortion’ (killing a newborn) should be permissible in all the cases where abortion is, including cases where the newborn is not disabled”.

There's more, but I can't take it.

Perhaps the most compelling case they make, that is unstated here, is the case where proponents of killing normal healthy babies have self selected themselves into a group where "Retroactive Abortion" is equally ethical.

These people are monsters and should be treated as such.

Ronnie Montrose RIP...............

Rock guitarist Ronnie Montrose dies in Millbrae

"SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Rock guitarist Ronnie Montrose, who formed the band that bore his name and performed with some of rock’s heavy hitters, has died, his booking agent said Sunday.

Montrose died Saturday at his home in Millbrae, agent Jim Douglas said. He was 64."

Always was a fan of his. Many a long night spent cruizing the country roads listening to Montrose tapes.

Finally got cut loose a couple of hours ago. Nice to be back at the shack. Feeling pretty much like stink right now.

I'll try to get back on track tomorrow.

Thanks again, Y'all. You've been a great sorce of encouragement this last week or so.
