Monday Morning ClimateGate Update.......
Things be happening with this story. Some places.

I was listening to BBC radio on the way home from work last night and you'd never know there was any questions being raised about the sanctity of Global Warming. The 2 dunderhead reporters went on and on about Green This and Green that with never a word about how there may be a flaw in their religion. Some sort of Green Week thing going on at the BBC or some shit.

Anyway, back in the real world.....

From the Telegraph comes this- Climategate: University of East Anglia U-turn in climate change row
"Leading British scientists at the University of East Anglia, who were accused of manipulating climate change data - dubbed Climategate - have agreed to publish their figures in full."
Except of course all the data that was Just, "Lost" somehow last Summer.

My Bad! We now know where the data went- Scientists at Climatic Research Unit Say “Unequivocal Evidence” Confirms Earth is Threatened by Giant Homework-Eating Dogs Even has a Picture! Go check it out. Good stuff.

And don't forget the daily dose of ClimateGate news at Watts Up With That

And check out SondraK for some funny pictures and this music video-

Off to do some chores.

Edit to add this hilarious bit from Jim Treacher "A friendly chat with the global warming evangelist who lives in my head"
This is a must stop for laughs on this.

Oh Shit. This is not Good......

Just saw this at Doug Ross (Link goes to Gateway Pundit)

"Unreal. Obama May Allow US Soldiers to be Tried in the Hague"

"Unreal. Team Obama may allow US soldiers to be tried in the Hague for war crimes."

Two Words - President Biden.

Gotta run before I'm late for work.

Saturday Morning.....
Off to work in the ER for the weekend. Odds of Post Holiday Zombie Influx today? Pretty high I'd guess.

Holidays and the end of the month both lend themselves to increased Zombie traffic. The scripts of percocet, methadone and hydrocodone are not due for refill till next Tuesday, the 1st of December.

So you know where they go. We in the ER are the front line, go to guys in times of need.

So yeah, I expect an ER full of drug seeking Zombies this weekend.

For a graphic representation of what a REAL Zombie Apocalypse will look like check out that link. That's some funny shit there. Pretty well done and sums up the horror movie standard plot quite well. I have no talent for doing things like this and appreciate those who do.
Go check it out for a grin.

Shoud have used this one on yesterdays post.

Did Ya Ever Wonder ?????

Just HOW close you can get to really laying a hurtin' on yourself while using a chainsaw?
Me neither till a little bit ago.

About this close.

Yep, that puckered me up just a bit!

Just barely nicked the skin.

Whew!!
I'd have had to sew myself up right here at home rather then go into work and have my coworkers laugh at me.

Thanksgiving may have been yesterday, but I'm thankful I didn't take a divot out of my leg. A chainsaw ain't exactly a "Fine cutting instrument" and can make some nasty ass messes when you put them in the wrong place.

Needless to say, I decided that was enough lumberjacking for today!

I did see a sign that Winter will be here any day. There are hundreds, if not thousands of Sandhill Cranes heading South today. Hugh flocks followed by more. Incredible.

Whaddah you mean you don't know what a Sandhill Crane is? They are one of my favorite sights in the Spring around here. They fill the fields and make a G-d awful racket for a week or two and then move on North. Seeing them in the numbers I've seen the last few days can only mean that Winter is not far off.

No idea where this was taken but that's pretty much what they look like in Spring just around the corner from here.

Thanksgiving Greetings to You All......

Or as we say around here, to y'all.

I hope everyone has something to be thankful about today. My blessings are too many to list.

I'm gonna continue my exciting life by finishing the garage clean up this morning.

Yes, my life really is that exciting. Sucks to be you.

Here's a couple of links for those of you who, like me, have no real life and need something to read.

Serious Funny here- Five Rules for Men to Follow for a Happy Life This really did make me, LOL.

If you've been following the Global Warming unraveling as gleefully as I have, here's a place with a bunch of good recent stuff. Bishop Hill Blog Not to be confused with my Congressional ShitWeasel, Baron Hill. Never pass up a chance to poke a stick at that little bastard I say!

For you classic rock fans and global warming skeptics out there, we have this-

First seen at Watts up with that? the go to place for climate change news ...... that isn't fabricated.

OK Minions, once again, have a nice Thanksgiving.

Exciting News!!!!!!!!
I got most of the garage cleaned and organized today.
Most, not all. Clearing the workbench will require another half day.

Is my life exciting or what?

Try not to be too jealous. Not everyone is able to live up to these standards.

Hell, yesterday I worked on getting the barn in order.
If I wasn't such a slob I wouldn't let shit get all out of whack in the first place.

Tuesday Night. Still Have Music on My Mind.....
So here's a couple from probably my favorite guitarist , Rory Gallagher-

One more before I head off to sleep-

This is the first Rory song I ever heard and I was hooked. All the guys in this band were superb musicians. Damn shame he had to nuke his liver at an early age.

Oh shit. Now I'm in the youTube zone and stuck on Rory Videos. May as well drop a couple more for ya.

One more and then I REALLY have to hit the sack.

Ok. This is cruel. Funny, but cruel.

Tuesday Afternoon........
Reminds me of this-

Geeezus, that's a long time ago.

I have to get cleaned up and go to the funeral home in a few minutes.
The wife of my friend Joe passed away Sunday afternoon after a long fight with breast cancer.

We have a saying in the ER - "Rotten Bastards live forever and nice folks die of cancer." I've seen it a lot of times and damn if it doesn't seem true.

Did You Know ?????

That according to THIS asshole -

"2009 is also the first year of global governance, with the establishment of the G20 in the middle of the financial crisis. The climate conference in Copenhagen is another step towards the global management of our planet." -
Herman Van Rompuy President, European Union

Howzabout a big, "Up Yours, Asshole" for Mr Van Rompuy?

We don't need any Global Governance.
We have enough political screwups of our own, thank you.

And our political fuckups are just that, ours. You fuckTards should just concentrate on ruining your own countries.

We don't need any help at all screwing shit up here.
Our American FuckTards are already doing a hell of a job destroying this country without your help.

So, piss off with your, "Global Governance", Herman.

More on ClimateGate......
I mentioned this story Saturday and am surprised that it's getting as much play as it is. This is good.

As people much smarter than myself have had a bit of time to digest the info released the other day about all of the faked Global Warming data, we're starting to see this break into the MSM.

One can only hope this gets legs and drives a spike through the heart of all the bullshit behind the Global Warm/Climate Change religion.

Here's a few links to what's going on out there -

Karl Denninger

The Milli Vanilli of Science

The Telegraph - Climategate: the final nail in the coffin of 'Anthropogenic Global Warming'?

Global WarmingGate: What Does It Mean?

Edit to add- Seems that the actual programming is more damning than the emails.
The global warming conspiracy - the codes reek of more “tricks”

CRU Emails “may” be open to interpretation, but commented code by the programmer tells the real story

The Washington Post Goes to Bat for the Religion of course The comments to this one are pretty insightful as to how the the faithful are reacting to this news.

It's gotta be painful to deal with the Inconvenient Truth that you've been sold a bill of goods.

And here's a story that I bet the editors now wish they had not published last Friday-
‘Climate change pushes poor women to prostitution, dangerous work’

We can add Prostitution to A complete list of things caused by global warming.

This list has always been a source of entertainment and just goes to show you how far a bad idea and FALSIFYING DATA TO PUSH AN AGENDA can go.

I'd like to see the whole bloody bunch of these charlatans brought up on charges. Lord knows they've swindled untold amounts of money from various governments with this shit.
I saw a link somewhere about that very thing, but damned if I can find it now. Seems like a logical idea to me though.

OK, that's it for now. I'm gonna go burn some old truck tires.

Get Ready to NOT Hear About This Story....

I'm a day or so behind on things around here, but you're not gonna hear this news in the mainstream media anytime soon so I guess it doesn't matter.

From Watts Up With That comes this story-

Breaking News Story: CRU has apparently been hacked – hundreds of files released.

"The details on this are still sketchy, we’ll probably never know what went on. But it appears that University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit has been hacked and many many files have been released by the hacker or person unknown."

Ace of Spades (Where I first saw this) has more Hacked Emails Reveal: "Scientists" Faking Data to Establish Global Warming They Know Isn't There
And Conspiring to Delete Emails They're Supposed to Retain for FOIA Purposes

Hot Air is a bit more subtle with this headline, Do hacked e-mails show global-warming fraud?

And of course the answer would be yes. Yes indeed.
I don't know if this is gonna change much in the minds of the adherents of the Religion of Global Warming, but it should.
It's gonna be interesting to see just what more comes out from all the files that were released. This has the potential to be a real game changer.

It also may put the squash on that stupid, Cap and Trade bill hanging around in the Senate. Let's hope so.

Go read up on this story and tell me what you think. I gotta go to work.

Quick add on -
There's More Maybe this is gonna break out into the MSM.

Part 2-

And 3-

I struggled with reading both, Atlas Shrugged and The fountainhead as a young man and have yet to finish either.

Now? Maybe yes.

Gonna have to buy them again as they both disappeared somewhere in the decades since then.

No. Not talking about the waistline of my jeans. Check out this short video of a Russian Il-76 as it uses every available bit of runway to get airborne.

Amazing. The thing looks like it's only moving about 20 mph when it finally lumbers into the air.

I got a hop in a C-5 Transport once and takeoff was pretty sketchy. The pilot prepared for takeoff by first holding on the brakes and powering it up till it was shaking like a dog passing Peach Pits to get roll off speed up. Definitely NOT like flying commercial.

OK, This is Just Crazy........

Found via SondraK comes this little shocker.

This is not new, but I had not heard this before, but here it is - First Lady requires more than twenty attendants

Here's the link to the Original Canada Free Press Article from July of this year if you're interested. BTW, their August update says the number is up to 26 now.

Check this shit out-
"How things have changed! If you’re one of the tens of millions of Americans facing certain destitution, earning less than subsistence wages stocking the shelves at Wal-Mart or serving up McDonald cheeseburgers, prepare to scream and then come to realize that the benefit package for these servants of Miz Michele are the same as members of the national security and defense departments and the bill for these assorted lackeys is paid by John Q. Public:

1. $172,2000 - Sher, Susan (CHIEF OF STAFF)
2. $140,000 - Frye, Jocelyn C. (DEPUTY ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT AND DIRECTOR OF POLICY AND PROJECTS FOR THE FIRST LADY)
3. $113,000 - Rogers, Desiree G. (SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT AND WHITE HOUSE SOCIAL SECRETARY)
4. $102,000 - Johnston, Camille Y. (SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT AND DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS FOR THE FIRST LADY)
5. Winter, Melissa E. (SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT AND DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF TO THE FIRST LADY)
6. $90,000 - Medina, David S. (DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF TO THE FIRST LADY)
7. $84,000 - Lelyveld, Catherine M. (DIRECTOR AND PRESS SECRETARY TO THE FIRST LADY)
8. $75,000 - Starkey, Frances M. (DIRECTOR OF SCHEDULING AND ADVANCE FOR THE FIRST LADY)
9. $70,000 - Sanders, Trooper (DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF POLICY AND PROJECTS FOR THE FIRST LADY)
10. $65,000 - Burnough, Erinn J. (DEPUTY DIRECTOR AND DEPUTY SOCIAL SECRETARY)
11. Reinstein, Joseph B. (DEPUTY DIRECTOR AND DEPUTY SOCIAL SECRETARY)
12. $62,000 - Goodman, Jennifer R. (DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF SCHEDULING AND EVENTS COORDINATOR FOR THE FIRST LADY)
13. $60,000 - Fitts, Alan O. (DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF ADVANCE AND TRIP DIRECTOR FOR THE FIRST LADY)
14. Lewis, Dana M. (SPECIAL ASSISTANT AND PERSONAL AIDE TO THE FIRST LADY)
15. $52,500 - Mustaphi, Semonti M. (ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR AND DEPUTY PRESS SECRETARY TO THE FIRST LADY)
16. $50,000 - Jarvis, Kristen E. (SPECIAL ASSISTANT FOR SCHEDULING AND TRAVELING AIDE TO THE FIRST LADY)
17. $45,000 - Lechtenberg, Tyler A. (ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF CORRESPONDENCE FOR THE FIRST LADY)
18. Tubman, Samantha (DEPUTY ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR,SOCIAL OFFICE)
19. $40,000 - Boswell, Joseph J. (EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE CHIEF OF STAFF TO THE FIRST LADY)
20. $36,000 - Armbruster, Sally M. (STAFF ASSISTANT TO THE SOCIAL SECRETARY)
21. Bookey, Natalie (STAFF ASSISTANT)
22. Jackson, Deilia A. (DEPUTY ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF CORRESPONDENCE FOR THE FIRST LADY)".

"The annual cost to taxpayers for such unprecedented attention is approximately $1,750,000 without taking into account the expense of the lavish benefit packages afforded to every attendant."

But why am I not surprised?

Dear Baron Hill.....

Received The Postcards yesterday.

These ones -

Except they are in living color. Follow the link above to get some for your Congressional AssMunch.

My ShitWeasel Congressman, Baron Hill will be receiving one soon, I hope. That's assuming it gets through the helper elves in his office.

I sent one to both the D.C. office and the Indiana office hoping one of them gets to him.

I can probably find his home address, but that just doesn't seem right so that won't be happening. His wife didn't vote on yes on both Cap&Trade and the Health Care bill.

I hope to hell that there is a viable candidate running against him in 2010.
Hell, I'd vote for Satan himself if he ran against this little turd.

Just Another Moron Monday......

Or, this is what I was doing today and deep thoughts on Horseshit.

Slept in like a Welfare Ho today and didn't get started doing things till late. It's ok. I never expect to get much done on Mondays after working Saturday and Sunday in the ER.

When I finally did get going I fired up the rototiller (My old one that I gave to a friend and borrowed back the other day.) and prepped a spot in the new (Revamped old area) area of the Garden & planted the pile of Asparagus roots I received a while back.

This area hasn't been worked for 4-5 years and I'd forgotten how much fun it is to break ground with a front tine tiller.
A lot like work.

Thankfully, I only had enough gasoline to do the area I needed and a bit more before the fuel ran out - of the tiller and me.

If it doesn't rain tomorrow I will do the rest of this area so prep in Spring will be easier. This ground has had a ton (many tons actually) of manure added to it in years past and is probably the best ground I have on the entire place. It should be just fine and do well next year. I have yet to find a replacement Horse Dookie supplier since my go to guy moved last year.
I really have to find another person with both, Horse Dookie AND a tractor with a loader. Old Bob would load it for me so I only had to shovel it when I got home.

And it's a hell of a lot easier to UNLOAD a truck full of horseshit than it is to LOAD one. That kinda stuff gets more important as I get older.

There are also eggs incubating in my closet. Jerry, the guy I gave the Tiller to, gave me a big bunch of hatching eggs Friday after I told him of my recent "Chicken Massacre". So they are now cooking away and hopefully, in a few weeks I'll have some chicks.
It's kinda late in the year to be starting chicks, but we'll see how it goes. If they make it through the Winter they'll be laying about time the weather warms up.

The 2 lonely survivors aren't laying much and I had to buy eggs last week. That's probably the first time we've bought eggs in 10 years.

That's just wrong and probably influenced my decision to go ahead and hatch out some chicks.

I always enjoy the incubation projects and baby chicks are about as cute as can be. Second only to baby ducks.

Enough for now. Time to go practice guitar. Relearning a skill is more frustrating than the initial learning and I've been procrastinating somewhat and that won't get me anywhere.

Sunday Morning.........
Off to the ER in a few to finish my regular weekend workweek.

Firearms season for Deer started yesterday and one of my co-workers and infrequent contributors here, MiniD got a nice 10 pointer with his scoped .44mag pistol.

I've never Deer hunted and pretty much have stayed the hell out of the woods in Fall for many years now. Long story, but suffice it to say, I don't trust too many folks with firearms after having to dig pellets out of myself once.

Hopefully the Zombie Horde will find something else to do today than come into and clog up my ER waiting room with horseshit complaints and drug seeking. Not likely, but one can always hope.

I'm sure it'll be better after Obamacare becomes law and all those Unicorns are dancing on the lawn farting Skittles and all that shit.

Stay safe, Kids. Off to work.

Ex-soldier faces jail for handing in gun

"A former soldier who handed a discarded shotgun in to police faces at least five years imprisonment for "doing his duty".

Paul Clarke, 27, was found guilty of possessing a firearm at Guildford Crown Court on Tuesday – after finding the gun and handing it personally to police officers on March 20 this year."

Can't See The Forest.....
For the trees I planted today.

My order arrived today and after the wife relieved me from Baby Doodie I went out and planted trees.

I'm gonna have quite a little orchard here before long.

The first bunch I planted this Spring did ok, but not great.
I attribute that to the fact that they shipped them here during the 1st or 2nd week of February when the ground was frozen solid.

Had a few that just never took off and that's a first for me.
Being the dumbass that I am I didn't pay attention to the exchange policy until it was already to late to get replacements from them.

My bad. Those cheap trees just got more expensive in a hurry.
I was pissed about the shipping anyway so I wasn't gonna order from them again, but the ridiculously small time window on exchanges pissed me off further.
It was plainly posted on their website, so I got nobody to blame but me. But it would be nice to be able to blame someone else.

We'll see how this bunch does when Spring gets here. I anticipate they'll do OK. I spent a lot of time prepping the planting spots.
The old saying, "Dig a hundred dollar hole for a 2 dollar tree" is true.

Over the years I've left a lot of trees at places that I've lived. That's a good thing I guess. I know the guy who's living at my last place is enjoying it.
I'm not leaving here till they cart me off in the box.
Well, that's the plan right now anyway. Time will tell.

All in all, a good days work.

Veterans Day Today......

Probably the definitive statement for this day to me is this poem.

In Flanders Fields-

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Lt Col John McCrae wrote that in May of 1915.

So say a word of thanks to any Vets you know or run into today.

Monday Quote of the Day......

This seems appropriate after the Saturday night screwing Pelosi gave us all with the passage of this terrible Health Care Bill.
"The essence of fascism is to make laws forbidding everything and then enforce them selectively against your enemies."

John Lescroart

As always, Mike Vanderboegh has some thoughts and a few questions about this.

Think about this-
In less than a year the Federal Government has taken charge of practically all of the finance and lending institutions in the country.
Has taken control of 2 of the, "Big Three" auto makers (While violating contract law and screwing the State of Indiana among others).
Has decided how much money executives can be paid, even at companies that didn't take government bailout money.

With the passage of this piece of shit health care bill, The House of Representatives has, with the Cap & Trade law, moved a second law through to the Senate that will almost guarantee to further kill our country's economy and make life harder for, We the People.

This is going to lead to major bad shit for all of us.

I'm not prone to having a lot of weird dreams, but lately there's been a lot of strange things going through my mind at night and I don't like it.

I may tell ya about that later.
Or not. We'll see.

I'm gonna be helping someone move today so till later, I suggest you start thinking about what our new overlords are doing to us and the country.

Saturday Morning Note......
Saturday begins my usual weekend work week in the ER once again. While I can't say I look forward to work I am damn glad to have this job.

As the official unemployment or Fun-employment as some are spinning it, level rises to over 10% now having a job looks better every day.

It looks like Madam Speaker is going to try to get a vote on the healthcare bill today.

You will like it.
Or Else. The following is lifted directly from the bill by Jammie wearing foolT

“Criminal penalties

Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:

• Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.

• Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.” [page 3]

Friday Night and All is Well......
Yesterday was a Range Day. My buddy and I spent 3-4 hours out at the range making holes in paper and having a good time.

I shot reasonably well. Not great, but I'll take it. I need to shoot more often, but ammo affordability is a problem right now. Even if ammo prices came back down to the levels of a few years ago, I'd have trouble replacing stocks.

Sucks to be me I guess. On the current budget we didn't figure in ammo. I'm gonna have to fix that and budget some amount for restocking what I shoot. Even a small amount of cash is better than nothing. We'll see.

Maybe Santa will hook me up.

Last night I went out with a couple of the young fellas from work and we had a big time.
Stayed up to late, drank more than I should have & I've been feeling it all day. Needless to say, I didn't get anything accomplished around here today.

The weather has been good this week. Sunshine really helps with the mental health.
It's still to wet to get a lot of the crops out of the field. Man, it's gotta be tough for them.

Back to work tomorrow.

Garden Stuff.......

With Fall here now and all the leaves on the ground you should be looking at those leaves as a good, free resource for next years garden.

Leaves are a great mulch for the garden. They keep the weeds down, hold moisture in (Not a problem this year!) and as they break down they improve the soil.
All around a serious winner for helping the garden.

You should consider gathering a few big piles around the garden somewhere and saving them for next year.

My Mom gave me a leaf blower thingie a few years back and for a couple of days a year it comes down off the hook it hangs on and gets a workout.

I've got 40+ trees in a stretch maybe 200 feet long in back of the house that dump 6-8 inches of leaves all over the back yard. It's a hell of a mess, but also a hell of a resource.

I use the blower to make rows and then blow them on a tarp tied to the back of the lawn mower and drag them over to the garden area.
I just dump 'em in big piles around the garden where they'll be handy next year. The wind does scatter some of 'em back out and about, but that's no big deal.

Like this one behind the compost heap.

I've got a lot of room so it's not a problem, but I suppose you could buy a cheap tarp to cover them with or some other method of keeping things tidy if that's a concern.
I've got piles all around the place so they're convenient.

Don't have to be toting them all over that way.

I've been cleaning things up around the garden and tidying things up the last few days.

All in all it was an ok year considering it's basically a new garden. The cold, rainy weather didn't do much for some things, melons, peppers and all the tomatoes except the Roma paste tomatoes we're mostly a bust.
But you'll have that.
While the cold kept the beans down to a single crop (I can usually get 2 plantings in) they produced out the wahzoo. We canned 70+ quarts of green beans and dried several pounds of both black beans and, what I call, cranberry beans.

My Tater plan didn't work out as well as planned, but I can't blame the taters. I didn't really add enough dirt around them as they were growing to get them to send out shoots and set more taters as the vines grew up. This was the first time I'd tried doing that in a long time and I just forgot that it takes a lot more soil and less straw. I'll try it again next year and see if I can't get a better crop.

We DID get taters. Just not as many as I'd planned on.
These are Yukon Gold from one bed I finally dug out today. We had comparable yields of Pontiac Red and Kennebeck from the other 2 beds.

Not a total bust, but something to work on for next year.

The HoopHouse was sort of a disappointment.

Having not had one before I didn't know what to expect or how to use one properly so this was a learning year.

Lots to learn. I'm a Cubs fan so I've got that whole, "Maybe next year" thing down pat. We'll see.

I have exactly zero Fall garden in. Just didn't have room, time or energy for it. This is an area where the HoopHouse could come in handy, but I'm a lazy little shit and missed my window of opportunity.

If I got some seeds of lettuce and spinach going now I could still probably utilize the HoopHouse, but that's probably not going to happen this year.
Another thing to work on. Organization.

I am gonna be making a plot layout and keep it up to date next year. What & when things go in and where exactly.
Rotating the crops around is very important. I try not to use any pesticides and crop rotation helps keep the critters down.

OK Kids. Go gather up those leaves and get started on next years garden now.

Do I Have to Draw You a Picture?????

Well no. These Guys Already Did

Simple and direct. Which is the best way I suppose.

Any law that the Government passes contains the threat of force so you will comply with it.

That's the way it is. Just understood.
Don't believe me? Try not paying your taxes and see who shows up to enforce that law. Armed officers. Go ahead and resist them and see if they won't go the whole nine yards with you.

So someone please show me the part in the Constitution where the State can FORCE me to buy a commodity. In this case health insurance or face fines and prison time.

Again, what happens if I decide I don't want to participate? Oh yeah. Armed men will come and force me to.

Thomas Jefferson was right. We need a revolution every now and then to keep these assholes on the up and up.

It's almost like they WANT to start something.

Is the Weather Really That Nice?????

That people stay in California despite the fact that The State has decided that you will LOAN them an extra 10% of your paycheck?
"Think of it as a forced, interest-free loan: You'll be repaid any extra withholding in April. Those who would receive a refund anyway will receive a larger one, and those who owe taxes will owe less."

Oh, I believe that. Really.
This is kind of like being forced to give the homeless guy outside the Liquor Store $50 cash every Friday.

Remember
boys and girls, trends start in California and spread to the rest of the Union.

Selfish Zombie Assholes in the ER .....
Had a crazy weekend in the ER. The full moon effect was cranking up the Zombies.
The place was busy as hell with a combination of real genuine sick people, drug seekers and just goofy assholes that were pissing me off from the get go.

So many people just don't seem to understand what the "Emergency" in Emergency Room stands for.

When things are busy and a real emergency presents, we take care of the emergency.

When I was in the Army, they defined an emergency as, "Any condition that if left untreated may lead to the eminent loss of Life, Limb or Sight."

Pretty simple. And if it's you or one of your loved ones who's in trouble, you'd be damn glad that we drop all the non-urgent shit and concentrate on the emergency at hand.

It probably won't surprise you that there are a lot of people who could give less than a shit about you or your loved ones problem if it means that they can't get their ER visit completed in a timely fashion that fits their schedule.

I've run into this many times over the years and it always pisses me the hell off. The ER staff is busting their ass to save some poor bastard and some Zombie Shithead gets mouthy because they have to wait.

I don't routinely get into pissing contests with Zombie Assholes while at work because it's just not worth the effort. But if some Sonzabitch continues to mouth off and make trouble after it's been explained to them that there is a true emergency going on? Count me in. I guess that's just one of my Hot Button issues that I can't let go.

Happened again the other evening and I damn near came unhinged.
I finally asked the selfish bastard, "Would you like us to quit working on this critical patient and just let her die so you can make it home in time to watch, Dancing with the stars?"

I must have hit a nerve because he started raving about having his lawyer sue us all because he and his Zombie wife had to spend a total of 3 hours in the ER.
I laughed right in his face and encouraged him to call his lawyer and have at it.
I also wrote the bosses name and number on his discharge instructions for him and encouraged him to call her and complain telling him, "I'd like to hear you explain how horrible it was for you to have sacrifice a little of your precious time so that the ER staff could save a life."

When I worked in the Big City ER it was not unusual to see people wait 7-8 hours before they even got out of the waiting room.

It's no wonder our country is so screwed up with so many selfish bastards like this prick running around.

What this asshole doesn't understand is this. If HE came in with his ass in a bad way, we'd drop everything and try our best to keep his dumb ass alive.

That's how an Emergency Room works.
