On a Night Like This.............
Is about the only time I ever regret joining the Army and not the joining the Navy instead.

The sky is so clear out tonight you can see a zillion stars.
I stopped the little blue truck on the way home from work a little bit ago in an area that is mostly corn or bean fields with very little light from houses just so I could take a good look at the sky.
Fabulous view tonight.

I've always wondered just how many stars you could see if you were out in the middle of the ocean on a Navy vessel at night. It's gotta be impressive.

I've been way the hell up into Canada and spent some nights on the Grand Mesa in Colorado. But on a night like this, I always want to see the sky the way the sailors did in the past.
Without any light pollution.

It's gotta be something special.

Probably never happen. But then again, my Dad went to his grave waiting to see the Chicago Cubs in the World Series, too.
I figure I have a much better chance of seeing the stars from the deck of a ship out in the ocean than seeing The Cubs in the World Series.

So there's always hope.

CycleMo's Museum...........

I ran across this place on my ride down into Kentucky and Tennessee awhile back and had forgotten to mention it before.
Pretty cool place.

A little video of the place.

I just stumbled onto this place while riding across the Northern part of TN. Saw the sigh, turned around and went back & checked it out.

Lots of nice displays and bikes. The parking lot had a bunch of nice stuff in it too.
Along with this Lawn Mower-

Ya just gotta love that shit.

Check out this SideHack. It's made from the Drop Tank of a P-51 Mustang-

I spent about an hour or so checking the place out. Totally worth the $5 bucks to get in.

So if ya find yourself around Red Boiling Springs, TN take the time to go and look around.

Here's one of them -

For those of you who care and/or are smart enough to be thinking ahead-
Ammo Man has a good deal on .223 on stripper clips and in ammo cans right now.
I have no affiliation, blah, blah, blah... Always have had good service and all the prices are with shipping to the door. Good prices not limited to .223 either.

Just saying.

Monday WTF?? Linkage..............

OK, I've been a bit of a slacker here the last few days. Between Night shift work and chores I've been a busy little Bee.
Remember that late planting of Beans I was betting on???
Well, we got a few-

Yes, crappy cellphone picture. Sorry about that. But I was surprised that we got as many as we did. Hell, I was surprised we got any at all before the frost killed them all.
I picked these last Friday. We had a hard frost that night and that would have nuked them anyway.

I have never picked beans this late in the season before and I got a kick out of picking beans in the last half of October. Sometimes a gamble pays off. The frost date for around here is something like, October 10th so I got lucky with planting them as late as I did. Yep, Win on that one.

In Other Food News -

If you eat Peanut Butter Better stock up!

"Get your peanut butter -- before prices soar" -

"NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Brace yourselves, peanut butter lovers -- prices are set to spike following one of the worst peanut harvest seasons growers have seen in years.

Prices for a ton of runner peanuts, commonly used to make peanut butter, hit nearly $1,200 this week, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. That's up from just $450 per ton a year ago.

It won't be long before consumers see this price increase reflected on store shelves."

The Wife stocked up (12 jars) on Saturday at WalMart and she noted that the price had already increased on the WalMart brand by 60 cents a jar.
I eat the shit out of Peanut Butter so this is a big deal to me.

Plan accordingly.

Even if you're on food stamps, it's gonna cost ya.
Did you realize that the cost of the Food Stamp Program is up to 80 BILLION this year???
Damn. Must be part of the whole, "Hope and Change" thing I guess.
But don't worry. It'll all be good if you believe the SOB's in Washington, DC.

Here is some good news for once -
Anonymous Takes Down Massive Child Pornography Server, Leaks Usernames
"In a move that we can all get behind, hacker group Anonymous has announced that they have taken down a huge cache of child pornography and released 1,589 usernames of the website’s patrons. The action came as part of Operation Darknet, which targets illicit websites that are part of an unindexed and therefore unsearchable corner of the Internet.

The server in question is owned by Freedom Hosting, and apparently services over 40 child pornography websites. The largest of these, disturbingly called Lolita City, was said to contain over 100gb of child pornography."

I really don't know much about the Anonymous folks, but I am always happy to see this sort of justice done.
Kiddy Porn is as bad as it gets.

Wednesday Morning Motorcycle Stuff..............

Was wanting to go riding today with MrT and PrezClinton but it's both cold and raining outside. So that's not happening.

So here's a few Bike pics and links to check out today.

That is just a beautiful setup there.

I've always wanted a sidecar rig.
One like this Beemer setup here would be just perfect, thank you.

These pics came from a nice gallery of Sidecar Pics at Dark Roasted Blend. Where I also found a few other cool Motorcycle Picture Galleries.

Which included this lovely, Megola. Not sure I've ever seen one of these before.

Another gallery there included This Unique Design

All in all a nice collection of cool motorcycle stuff for a Wednesday Morning.
Again, all pics from Dark Roasted Blend which I can see is one hell of a good place to waste time. Like I needed another place to send my spare time to die.

On this day in 1938 Evil Knievel was born in Butte, Montana.

It's Monday and That Means.............
The LittleBlueTruck needs brakes.

And that, of course means money. Ouch.
Oh well, it's money well spent and cheaper than making payments every month.

It's a good little truck and money spent now on maintenance is cheaper in the long run.
Maybe if I wasn't deaf as a stump, I'd have heard the warning indicators squeaking before the brake rotors got chewed up. Maybe not.
Either way it's fixed now and that's good.

In Other News- This may be the Best 4 Sale Ad Ever on Craigslist. In a totally hilarious, moron sorta way-

"This isn't your normal skyline. This motherfcker is the skyline God would drive if he wasn't busy doing God sh*t like making tsunamis and crap. Its set up to go fast, and go fast sideways. Who doesn't like to get sideway?! Terrorists, thats who. Are you a terrorist? No? Then you need this car."
That's just the first sentence.

From the, "It's to Much Trouble to Fix the Problem Department" We have this - "House Bill Would Criminalize Satire of TSA"

Yeah, making fun of the Gropers and Fondler's with images like this is likely to get yer ass arrested in the future.

What a friggin' joke. They can strip search old women and violate your wife and kids, but you better not make fun of these assholes.
Somebody needs their nut sack kicked just for suggesting this.

H/T & Pic from that goofy bastard, Alex Jones.

Had to double check this. Went Here and sure enough, in section 295, it's right there-

"‘Whoever, except with the written permission of the Assistant Secretary for Transportation Security (or the Director of the Federal Air Marshal Service for issues involving the Federal Air Marshal Service), knowingly uses the words ‘Transportation Security Administration’, ‘United States Transportation Security Administration’, ‘Federal Air Marshal Service’, ‘United States Federal Air Marshal Service’, ‘Federal Air Marshals’, the initials ‘T.S.A.’, ‘F.A.M.S.’, ‘F.A.M.’, or any colorable imitation of such words or initials, or the likeness of a Transportation Security Administration or Federal Air Marshal Service badge, logo, or insignia on any item of apparel, in connection with any advertisement, circular, book, pamphlet, software, or other publication, or with any play, motion picture, broadcast, telecast, or other production, in a matter that is reasonably calculated to convey the impression that the wearer of the item of apparel is acting pursuant to the legal authority of the Transportation Security Administration or Federal Air Marshal Service, or to convey the impression that such advertisement, circular, book, pamphlet, software, or other publication, or such play, motion picture, broadcast, telecast, or other production, is approved, endorsed, or authorized by the Transportation Security Administration or Federal Air Marshal Service;’."

I'm Certain This Will Turn Out Just Swell................
No, really.

US to Play 'Very Major Role' In Helping Europe: Geithner

"The U.S. plans on being an active partner as efforts intensify to get Europe get back on its feet financially, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told CNBC Friday...."

Great idea!
Like wasting all that TARP money here has done so much to help our economy. Besides, Didn't we do something like this already once before?
"The Marshall Plan (officially the European Recovery Program, ERP) was the large-scale American program to aid Europe where the United States gave monetary support to help rebuild European economies after the end of World War II..."

I guess the plan this time is to spend all this money (That we don't have) BEFORE they go to war with each other and fuck everything up. You do know that's what they tend to do over there when things get hinky economically, right?

Makes sense to me!!

Oh well, I'm off to the ER for 12 hours of fun battling the Zombies. You kids have a nice day. I advise you go shopping and stock up on Beans, Bandaids and Bullets.
You're gonna need 'em.

"The documents this subpoena demands will provide answers to questions that Justice officials have tried to avoid since this investigation began eight months ago. It's time we know the whole truth."

Range Time w/ the PSL...........

DogBoy and I went to the range the other day. Met up with friend, MiniD and put some rounds through the PSL.

I love this thing.

I put up a silhouette target at 200 yards and we had at it.

I sure as hell ain't Carlos Hathcock is all I can say.
Got 90% of everything in the black, but "Grouping" was an almost laughable concept.

Guess this means I should get out there more, eh? It's been quite some time since I shot the damn thing.

DogBoy did better than I did.
No surprise there. The kid's a Friggin' Ninja.

Gonna need to start restocking the ammo locker too. Damn shame my dollars don't go as far as they did a few years ago.

Got a couple of firearms projects that need to get fixed, finished, etc. Since the DaughterUnit moved her shit out of here a few weeks ago, revamping the ManRoom needs to get back on track too.

Never stops. If I live to be a 100 I'll never get all the current projects finished.
Oh well, It's good to have a mission!

In Other News -

Got some garden work done today. Gonna go see the guy with the horses about some horseshit for the garden beds in a few.
Hopefully, my buddy will get that Tiller up to speed soon.

A Happy Ending Story Here- Pedophile Disemboweled in UK Prison

"On Saturday morning, having made makeshift weapons out of toothbrushes and razors, two inmates at Frankland prison confronted Harrison in his cell, slit open his stomach, and to ensure he was dead pulled out some of his internal organs onto the floor, essentially disemboweling him.

The two men (as yet unnamed) aged 23 and 32 then cleaned themselves up, went to eat breakfast, then turned themselves into officers for the crime, which at that point had gone undetected."

Maybe it's cruel of me to laugh about this............ Nah, screw it. Dumb Bastards.

Gratuitous Picture of My New Favorite Tee Shirt -
I'll See Your Global Warming............
And raise you a Mini Ice Age.

Via Yid w/Lid yesterday - Global Warming Update: Britain Faces Mini-Ice Age, Ice Cap Having Major Growth Spurt

"The Ice Age prediction comes from Britain's Met Office. They indicate that nation could be facing a repeat of the “little ice age” that gripped the country 300 years ago, causing decades of harsh winters."

Not that I'm happy about this, mind you. It's just one more example of Al Gore's Giant Brain being wrong.
Again.

"So far it has been very cold in the arctic this fall, in fact it has been coldest autumn the arctic has seen in over a decade. Because of this cold the arctic has added a Manhattan-sized chunk of ice to the ice cap every 30 Seconds For The Last 30 Days....."

Frankly, I hope this all turns out to be wrong, too. Global Cooling would be a hell of a lot worse than a bit of warming.
What this illustrates is that the Earth's Climate is way more complex than, Al Gore and friends make it out to be.
Read the article and the links & note how that Big Yellow Thing which rises in the East every morning may play more of a role in climate than fucking CO2.

Who would have thought?

More Border Bullshit..............

That nobody seems to care about.

From the El Paso Times- Whistle-blowers allege corruption, cartel ties

"Two former law enforcement officers allege that they cannot get anyone to investigate allegations that the Mexican drug cartels have corrupted U.S. law officers and politicians in the El Paso border region.

Greg Gonzales, a retired Doña Ana County sheriff's deputy, and Wesley Dutton, a rancher and former New Mexico state livestock investigator, said that instead of arrests and prosecutions of suspects, their whistle-blowing activities have resulted only in threats and retaliation against themselves."

"Dutton and Gonzales said small aircraft regularly drop drug loads on ranches or other properties along the U.S.-Mexico border, and that some U.S. law officers escort the loads to the next stop.

The two whistle-blowers said that drug cartels have managed to obtain computer access codes to U.S. surveillance systems that let them see where and when Border Patrol agents are monitoring the border."

Having lived in El Paso for 3 years back in the 80's, I have no problem believing that the Cartels would be doing this. Just makes good business sense.
I'm not real happy that the Feds are not policing their own though.

Third world status here we come!

Bill Whittle, Brilliant as Always.............
Nails it once again-

Live Free or Die from Christian Vezilj on Vimeo.

(H/T - Theo Spark)

I have a serious Man Crush on Bill Whittle. In a totally Hetero and Manly way of course.

After you watch that video, read this- Judge Rules No Right to Own a Cow or Drink Its Milk

WI Judge to Zinniker, FTCLDF: No “Fundamental Right to Own a Cow, or Consume Its Milk… Am I Making Myself Clear?”
~ David Gumpert

"In his opinion the Judge rejected out of hand the Zinniker plaintiffs’ argument that they had a fundamental right to possess, use and enjoy their property (including “a fundamental right to own a cow, and to use their cows in a manner that does not cause harm a third party”); he stated this claim was “wholly without merit.”

The judge went on to hold that the plaintiffs were operating a dairy farm and were therefore subject to the requirements of Wisconsin’s dairy code.

Wanting to get more specific reasons for the judge’s dismissal of their rights, the Zinniker plaintiffs filed a Motion for Clarification with the court...."

"On September 9, Judge Fiedler issued his decision on the motion, stating that the court’s August 12 denial of plaintiffs’ motion for judgment meant the following:

(1) Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to own and use a dairy cow or a dairy herd;

(2) Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to consume the milk from their own cow;

(3) Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to board their cow at the farm of a farmer;

(4) The Zinniker Plaintiffs’ private contract does not fall outside the scope of the States’ police power;

(5) Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to produce and consume the foods of their choice;"

I mentioned this case a few Weeks ago.
So if I read this all correctly, there is more than one Judge in WI that needs a swift kick in the nutsack when it comes to food freedom. Or freedom in general.
(H/T - Sipsey Street)

I will do what I
damn well please when it comes to food or animal products raised here at my place. Fuck all, Y'all if you think otherwise & that's all I have to say about that.

Just Funny........

Let me explain.

As I walked up to the Little Blue Truck yesterday to leave for work I noted the following items in and around the bed and the cab -

A folded up shower curtain.
2 coils of rope.
A roll of duct tape.
A machete.
Vice Grips.

Major Laugh Out Loud moment.
All that was missing was a shovel!

Now, I realize why all those things were there, but it made me wonder how the folks on CSI or NCIS would see it.

I was just gonna leave it all in view for comic relief and Yucks, but decided that I really didn't want to find out what the Local Police thought of it so I put it away before leaving.

Not everyone has my sense of humor, unfortunately.

Gratuitous Picture for a Monday Afternoon-

Bacon. Lots of Bacon.

Columbus Day Today.........

Back in the old days, we all learned the little, "In 14 hundred and 92, Columbus sailed the ocean blue" ditty.
I have know idea if that is still the case, but I'm pretty sure if it is, there's a different spin on it now.

Whatever.
It's a holiday for a lot of folks and I don't have mail delivery today and that's that.

I believe I am finally shaking this nasty bug that has knocked my Dick in the Dirt for the last few weeks.
"Dear Mr Immune System, I take back all the bad things I said about you recently. OK?"
Good.

No Night Shifts this past weekend! Even though we got our asses kicked, not making the Night Shift changeover was good for me and I feel almost human this morning.

The almost full moon effect was running in high gear last night and really brought out the Friggin' Zombies to the ER.
We were packed to the rafters in Zombies, Zombie Families and Offspring, with the Cops & EMS bringing more of them in on, what seemed to be, a regular schedule all evening.

The good news was that there were not that many folks who REALLY needed Emergency Care. Thank goodness for that. There were a lot of sick folks in the mix who weren't just looking for drugs, sympathy or........... Whatever the fuck it is they come to the ER for.
Lots of odd shit though.

On days like that ya just have to prioritize, take care of those that need it first and drive on.

And say a little, "Thank You" that a Train hasn't hit a Bus full of Nuns and Orphans or some shit like that.

All on all, just another day in paradise.
"It's good to have a job. It's good to have a job. It's good to have a job." That helps some.

If you're not working, enjoy the day off today. The weather here today is beautiful and I may just get motivated enough to get some work done around here.

Or not.
I may just say, "Screw it" and go take TheBigBluePlasticMotorcycle out for a much needed ride.

Later!

I Think I'm Gonna Live...........

Through this funky ass respiratory illness that's been trying to kill me.
The last 2 days I've been feeling more human and things like, just walking around seem more normal.
Huzzah for me!

I'm pretty disappointed in the old immune system though. Sorta let me down here and it's gonna have to prove to me I can trust it again.

So, bottom line is I'm getting my shit back in order and will soon be back to posting my usual inane horseshit once again.

Seriously. I'm Getting Tired of This Shit...........

I still have this cough and cold thing hanging on here and it is wearing me the hell out. No really. Wearing me out.
The Nightshifts of this last weekend didn't seem to help any either.

Speaking of work, things are screwed up worse than ever there. I really didn't think the, Wise and Wonderful who run that place could wreck the morale anymore.
Boy was I wrong.

Can't talk about it here of course. Everyone is just keeping their heads down and checking frequently to make sure no Bulls-eye finds it's way onto their back.

Pretty creepy. Job search is getting amped up some in response. My Spider Sense has been tingling a lot lately. Time to do something about it I guess.

Of course there are personal/family issues going on right now that are weirding me the hell out and distracting me too.

Yay for Drama!!!

At least the weather is nice today so I hope I can muster enough energy to clean up the garden.

Lot's of clean up required.
The weather forecast looks good for the entire week, so that's a plus.

Need to get some range time in this week on the rifles. Spoke with the Dogboy about that last night and it looks like that may be on the agenda.

Good. I need a bit of trigger time.

Seriously need to improve my mood here.

Sorry about the lack of action here, but my ass has been dragging and all the drama has put the ViceGrips on my mental hygiene.
Yeah, all this will pass. Just in an extra Grumpy mood this morning.
